Alvic presents its solutions for gas and hydrogen to the market at the Green Gas Mobility Summit

The company positively values its participation in the fair: "We have had the opportunity to show that we continue to innovate to control, manage and automate any type of installation".

Alvic, a leading company in technological solutions for the energy sector, participated for the first time in the Green Gas Mobility Summit, held on September 21 and 22 in Madrid. The company, which reinforces its commitment to renewable energies, was one of the sponsors and had a stand where it presented its products adapted to gas and hydrogen stations, in addition to the new Vertex self-service terminal, which will go on sale soon.

Alvic's debut at an event in this sector was very good. “We found ourselves with a great reception, both from visitors and from exhibitors and companies that were also present at the fair. All thanks to the great team in charge of the organization, who made everything easier. At Green Gas we have had the opportunity to show the market that we continue to innovate and commit to the latest technology to control, manage and automate any type of installation”, explains Ferran Arcarons, Marketing Director at Alvic.

The company has devoted efforts to development and innovation to contribute to the transition of the sector towards energy sources with less impact on the environment. In fact, the technology company is part of the Hydrogenizing BCN Consortium, providing solutions for a project that will build hydrogen service stations in the country over the next few years. “Green Gas has not only helped us make our solutions known in a new sector, but it has also helped us meet important players, who have seen in our solutions products with extensive experience and a great innovative component. and technology dedicated to the management, control and automation of any type of energy. In this particular case, for any gas and/or hydrogen installation”, says Ferran Arcarons.

Alvic makes a very positive assessment of his presence at the fair, especially after the pandemic: “We believe that the impact has been good. The market also needed to see each other again and be able to share their experience in recent months. Most of them have acted like true heroes. Today, gas is perhaps the second energy in terms of volume behind traditional fuel, and that is why this fair has been of great importance. To see how it is developing and what solutions exist for the main competitor of diesel and gasoline”.

The concerns of the service stations

The Green Gas Mobility Summit concluded with the unanimous message that, today and pending the development of other fuels and forms of propulsion, the only immediate decarbonisation option in the road transport sector is LNG and the progressive penetration of biomethane, although the lack of a refueling network and the limited availability of green hydrogen are a brake on the development of this energy vector. Additionally, the land and sea transport sector requires the necessary incentives so that the use of this carbon-neutral fuel is accompanied by a viable business model.

“It is clear that, in recent years, the concept of energy transition is gaining strength within the service station sector. Fossil fuel will continue to be king over the next few years, but the concern in the sector is to know how, when and with what energy they should invest in gradually making this energy change that has been announced in recent years” , assures Ferran Arcarons. The Alvic team that traveled to the fair was able to observe the needs of service station owners regarding this change: “They need an expert in the sector who can guide them within this energy portfolio. And we believe that Alvic, as a computer and technology provider for the energy sector, can also help them in this transition process, with its solutions and experience”.

Alvic and the energy transition

The energy transition is one of the most important challenges that the sector will have to face in the coming decades. In its 35-year history, Alvic has been a key player. “We have understood the needs of the market, developing more flexible solutions, to optimize our clients' businesses and offer richer supply experiences for the user. And, furthermore, we have understood that the best service comes from being close to customers. To do this, we have the largest presence in the entire territory”, emphasizes Roc Arisa, general manager of Alvic.

These are the pillars of Alvic's strategy that have influenced, and will continue to influence, the market to face future challenges.
